This
oak structure was a corn crib, standing in Eastern Pa. and dating
to the mid-late 1800's. It's hand-hewn oak measuring 17 by 28 ft.
The main posts are 6 by 8" and the interior posts are 5 by 5
through 6 by 6". The interior posts on this building could be
removed to lend more open space inside. (I also have a drawing of
the layout that I can forwared). There is a full loft which sits at
9 ft. The knee wall height in the loft is 4 ft. (height to the eves
is 13 ft.). The height at the peak of the loft is 9 ft. There is a
spot for stairs as well. The rafters are re-useable, however they
are spaced quite far and we recommend adding one rafter in between
the existing rafters throughout the length of the building. There
are also two bad sill plates. While this can be re-erected w/o sills
directly onto a slab, we also recommend adding two good sills and
re-erecting the structure w/ sills.
The
structure is in good condition and needs only minor repair. The cost
as-is (w/o rafters, sills or repair) is $11K. The cost w/ repair is
$12K. With repair and extra rafters (ready to install...not just blanks)
is $13K and the cost in full repair, w/ extra rafters and replacement
sill beams is $14K. If you are interested in reassembly on your lot,
that cost is $7K which includes reassembly on your lot of the frame,
loft joists and rafters (including extra rafters and replacement sleepers).
That price includes machinery, but does not include travel, delivery
or lodging (all of which can be quoted with your zip code).
This
building mustbe down (either for parts or to be rebuilt) no later
than Oct. 10, 2010.
